Blog Stage 4
In this article by The New York Post it talks about Trump's effort to fill courts with conservative judges, and It focuses on the major road bump he has reached. Mr. Trump is not focusing on the integrity or the experience that these future judges are bringing to the table, but instead choosing them because they are conservative republicans. It speaks a lot about our Presidents integrity and the way he handles things. The article talks about a video that went viral when one of the suggested "Judges" was being prompted about simple questions having to do with the law and he did not know the answer. This makes me as a citizen question everyone who is in the President's cabinet and whether they are fit to be in that position. Trump's judgement is not in the better for the people but in what will make republicans happy. Overall, if we cannot trust who is in our courts, then can we really depend on the law to protect us? President Trump continues to boast over the success of his nominations but I feel like it is only infecting our Government.

In this Article it talks about Americans rushing to judgement when it comes to sexual harassment claims. This opinion comes after State Rep. Dan Johnson killed himself after being accused of sexual assault. Overall, I feel that this article is intended for people who are very ignorant towards this topic. The writer Kathleen Parker is an opinion writer who has probably never met a victim who has gone through sexual assault. I feel that every accusation should be taken seriously, because this is the sole reason for this movement. Victims are afraid to speak up for this same reason they feel that people will judge them and not believe them. As for the suicide of Dan Johnson, I feel that this is completely irrelevant to the victims integrity. Rep. Johnson choice to take that direction and it was his way of handling it, it does not take any truth away from his accusers story. Clearly both sides should be taken into consideration, but at the same time the way this is all being handled is definitely not a rush to judgement.

In the article "What’s Next After the Repeal of Net Neutrality", it talks about the ups and downs of repealing net neutrality. For me being someone who does not fully understand what Net Neutrality is, this article was really helpful. It discusses just how much freedom companies have now to control the internet. Puts into our perspective the protections that we will have as consumers, and the benefits that we will receive from this. One of the things that I found most interesting is the discussions that were made with companies like AT&T prior to Net Neutrality being repealed. These companies all made promises that the internet would not change and that they would maintain the internet equal for everybody. Now that the FCC has repealed Net Neutrality this is something to keep in mind moving forward when companies don't keep their promises. We as consumers still have the power to fight this if it is not for the better of the people. I hope that this does not change the way everything on the internet works.

In United States Government Blog, it talks about the legalization of Marijuana being inevitable at this point. I have to agree, its hard to look away when an industry is having such great success. It seems as though the federal government is jumping through loopholes to prevent full legalization from happening. Not only does this industry bring lots of money back to the economy but it has also been proven to have health benefits. I have seen it for myself, and I feel as though the government is fighting a fight against good at this point. Restricting dispensaries from simple things like digital currency doesn't make it harder for dispensaries but for the government to have to keep up. People will continue to buy and Marijuana should be legal. Just as the blog stated, it is inevitable and full legalization will come.

Blog Stage 8
In the blog US Gov it talks about people feeling safer to address sexual harassment due to the rise of allegations in Hollywood stars and politicians. I have to agree with this opinion because it is giving people the courage they didn't have before. The people who have been through this type of conduct are feeling safer to speak up because they are not alone. It is shining a light on a topic that no one wants to speak of, and forcing companies and people to take action. Seeing big name stars and politicians lose their jobs over harassment is showing the country just how serious sexual harassment should be taken. There is a movement starting and I feel like its only going to get better for victims. I feel that the country will implement new laws with better protection and will begin to focus not only on treatment but on prevention. At the end of the day seeing people lose their jobs and reputations over mistakes they made seems like its enough but its not. These victims wish they could erase those moments from their lives but they can't, so hopefully this movement can reduce the number of people affected by this every day.

Blog Stage 5
To kneel or not to kneel, this has become a major topic for many people all over the country to debate. On September 24th 2017 President Trump made harsh comments about NFL players by saying "Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now. Out. He's fired. He's fired!". Players from the NFL have been rehearsing their right to protest recently in order to shine light on police brutality towards people of color. Many people get angry over the subject, while others applaud it. I personally believe that at the end of the day it is written in our constitution and it is our right to peaceful protest. No matter what background one has and whether one is upset about it can take that away. For our president to simply ask to have someone fired for practicing their rights is just simply wrong. These players have received threats from their organizations, their fans, and even their president. This goes to show just how one-sided people are about the constitution. The president only brings up the constitution when it is to benefit him but not when it is for the good of others. I believe that everyone has their right to agree or disagree but considering our commander in chief is so close minded about the topic goes to show what views his administration has and it casts a dark shadow over the country we live in.
Blog Stage 7
During the time of Donald Trump's presidency he has made lots of changes that people disagree with. One of the biggest changes that I disagree with was the ending of DACA. A program that gives undocumented immigrants that were brought here as children an opportunity for an education. The President feels as though he needs to destroy everything that our Former President Barack Obama created. Even though the program has not officially ended; he has taken it upon himself to add an expiration date. I have met many people in my life who have benefited from the Dream Act, and were given opportunities that they had always hoped to have. On November 28th 2017, The LA Times wrote an article called 'I don't see a deal!' Trump changes tone on working with 'Chuck and Nancy' on immigration, taxes in which Mr. Trump speaks about immigrants in a way that that showcases them all as criminals by tweeting "Meeting with “Chuck and Nancy” today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes." It is as though he considers all immigrants as pests by using the word "flooding". I personally believe that a country without immigrants is a country without an opportunity for growth. There is many gifted people from all over the world that would love to benefit from this great country and give back for what they have received. Ending the Dream Act would only seal the door shut to an already slim opening.
